​The pose for the Nixie was inspired by a Brothers Grimm fairy story in my copy of The Yellow Fairy Book by Andrew Lang, with images by Henry J Ford. "The Nixie of the Millpond" A malign water spirit that will grant your wish but what will she ask for in return!
