Flora
Flora was a model I used when teaching how to make a portrait bust. My teaching method involved doing one stage at a time, with the class following my lead. At the end of the three-day class, I had a good portrait but hadn't bothered to finish the hair or any of the details, and I wondered what to do with her. I had recently finished the Dream sculpture, where I had loosely finished the areas in clay. The flowers and the hair are roughly made with wet clay.
