Dandy Hare
We used to have a small house in France where my husband Alex would do art holidays, and we were over there for a month when the clay I had had gone hard. But I had a bag of plaster and some chicken wire. Being fond of hares, I thought that I would make a hare. I think this pose is very iconic and just says “I am a hare” very loud and clear. I brought home the finished piece that was made in plaster in Paris and decided to caste him in iron resin rather than bronze resin because this seemed more appropriate for his coat. See process for rusted iron resin. Of all the other hares, the Listening Hare was the most popular. This was the first.
The blue resin is UV stable and will not fade outside, but he is iconic and would also look great in a modern interior.
